CrumbSweep collects no data whatsoever. It has no analytics, no telemetry, and no accounts. Its job is to delete data, not gather it.
The free version makes no network requests of any kind. If you choose to buy CrumbSweep Pro, the payment is handled by ExtensionPay. That is the only situation in which CrumbSweep contacts a server, it happens only after you click "Unlock CrumbSweep Pro", and it never sends your lists, settings, or anything about your browsing. Until you click it, no request is made at all.
Your settings, whitelist/greylist, cleanup counters, and internal bookkeeping (which sites have open tabs, which cleanups are pending) are stored in your browser's extension storage on your device. If you are signed into Chrome with extension sync enabled, Chrome may sync your settings and lists between your own devices through your Google account — that sync is performed by Chrome, not by CrumbSweep, and the data never reaches us. We couldn't read it if we wanted to: we operate no servers.
CrumbSweep keeps a local record of what it swept — site, cookie names, counts and times — so you can see what it has been doing. It records cookie names only and never cookie values, and it is kept on your device for 30 days. You can clear it at any time from the options page.
To let you undo a sweep, cookie values are held for ten minutes in your browser's session storage, which lives in memory and is erased when Chrome closes. They are never written to disk and never leave your device.
Purchases are processed by ExtensionPay and Stripe. If you buy Pro, they receive your email address and payment details under their privacy policies — CrumbSweep never sees your card details and stores nothing beyond a local flag recording that your copy is unlocked. If you never buy Pro, no request is ever made and nothing is ever sent.
None. CrumbSweep shares nothing with anyone. The only third party involved at all is the payment processor above, and only if you choose to pay.
If this policy ever changes, the new version will be published at this URL with an updated effective date.
